Discover the historical and architectural heritage of Stavelot in one of the cult buildings of our city: the Stavelot Abbey. With guided tours, archaeological excavations or museums, this monastic foundation established in the 7th century will delight lovers of history and culture.
In addition to the three permanent museums (Spa-Francorchamps Racetrack Museum – Historical Museum of The Principality of Spa-Malmedy – Guillaume Apollinaire Museum), come and discover the “Martin Parr – Parrathon” exhibition available until 19 May 2024.
The Stavelot folklore
The favourite season of all in Stavelot is fast approaching… the ideal time to experience the legendary folklore of our region… this is, of course, the Stavelot Carnival, called “Laetare”.
This year, the 519th “Laetare de Stavelot” will take place on 9, 10 & 11 March. On the agenda: three days of festivities with 2,500 participants strolling around in fancy dress in the streets of Stavelot, confetti and the Blancs-Moussis. It’s the opportunity to live an authentic and extraordinary folkloric experience not to be missed!
